Elementary Vocal Music at Plymouth Christian Academy uses a movement-based program that allows students to develop their sense of rhythm. Kodaly Training is used to improve their ability to hear, sing, read, write and listen to music with a knowledgeable ear. Upper elementary students continue their training of melody and rhythm and add to their tools the ability to play instruments and compose.
Students meet bi-weekly for 46 minutes. All students participate in music classes taught from a Biblical worldview. In addition to musical field trips and enjoying special musical guests, Elementary Vocal Music students perform alongside our elementary orchestra in two concerts – Christmas and Spring, where they perform a combination musical presentation including choir, band, and strings.
